A Call to Faithfulness

(Season 58: Episode 05)

In Matthew twenty-eight, eighteen through twenty (28:18-20), Jesus gives His disciples the very famous and important Great Commission. This commission extends to us even today: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Christ’s call to action for us is not simply a command; it’s an invitation for all Christ-followers to grow in faith. Through walking in obedience to His last command, we accept the call and faithfully share with others and make disciples. And truly, our Savior deserves our utmost loyalty! Because of His great sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, all who put their trust in Him can receive the gift of eternal life. And that’s us!

A Matter of Discipleship

(Season 58: Episode 04)

The focus of the Great Commission is not making converts, but rather in making disciples. Well, what does sharing our faith have to do with discipleship? Actually, there is a direct connection.

Someone has told me before that he couldn’t share his faith in Christ if he’s not walking the walk. And in that sense, when you’re actively sharing the Gospel, it becomes a discipling ministry on its own for you to grow more like Jesus. But there’s even more to it than that. Bill comes to mind. He was a churchgoer for 56 years of his life, yet he didn’t have a personal relationship with Christ. Can you imagine, all of those years attending church and missing the main message?

Our Call to Share

(Season 58: Episode 03)

Sometimes, I think that we convince ourselves that no one wants to hear the Gospel or that we would bother people with it. Well, let me tell you a testimony from my own life. We see this happen again and again, week after week as we disciple Christians to share their faith.

It was an ordinary Saturday afternoon. I took my team to a laundromat. We had some wonderful conversations and were about to leave when a white car pulled. A young man leaned out and cried, "Me next. Do me next!" I wasn’t sure if he actually knew that we wanted to share with him, but when I asked him if he really wanted to hear the Gospel, he said, “Yes, please share with me!”

After telling him about Jesus, he and his 19 year old girlfriend prayed to receive Christ right there in the laundromat parking lot. God has uniquely fitted us for this time. All we must do is be willing to share. For resources, visit share life dot today.

The Hour is Near

(Season 58: Episode 02)

In Romans thirteen eleven (13:11), Paul tells us, “Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.” Well, what does he mean when he says, “do this?”

In order to know that, we have to go back a few verses to where Paul exhorts the Christians of the church to love one another and to love their neighbors. He calls them to faithfulness and to serving fellow believers and their communities. Truly, we find ourselves in days where commitment to God at that level may cost us something. But I want to encourage you today—it is worth it.

When you choose to love others by sharing the Gospel with them, you see more lives changed, to God’s glory. And the day when Christ returns is coming more quickly than we think. So let’s be faithful to share God’s love with others. For resources to help, visit sharelifeafrica.org

The Time of God's Favour

(Season 58: Episode 01)

Paul quotes in second Corinthians six two (6:2) these words from Isaiah, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Paul continues by saying, “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation.”

And I would say the same to you today! We do not know the time that we have. We are not promised tomorrow. So today is the day to share the best news another person can hear—and that is salvation through Jesus. If you think about your own life, there was a day, an hour, a second that you may have made that decision yourself, and Jesus became your Savior and Lord.
