Making God Proud

Well Done. Now, those are two words we all want to hear. Whether in this life or eternity with Christ, we want to be told, “I’m proud of you! You did it! Well done!”

It is not much different from when my grandchildren try to get my attention and acknowledgment. They could be riding a bike or sliding into a pool, but they always cry out, “Watch me! Watch me, Grandpa!” They want to know that I am seeing what they are doing so, in turn, I can tell them how proud I am of what they have done.Well, I want to encourage you today—God is watching you.

He is watching your actions, and one day He will tell you, His precious child, “Well done. I’m so proud of you.” He wants you to live a life full of love and full of Him. And He has given us an incredible purpose—to share the Gospel with all of creation.

Hearing Well Done

When you arrive in Heaven, do you want to hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful servant”? Now I know I do!

And while we know that God is the “author and finisher of our faith,” the truth is that finishing strong isn’t something that just happens. It has to be worked on. And one way we can finish strong is to share our faith. Because one of the last commands Jesus left us was to “go and preach the gospel with everyone.” So when we share our faith intentionally, we bear eternal fruit. People will give their lives to God. This isn’t just good news for a moment—it is good news for eternity! And praying with others to receive the free gift of eternal life is frankly one of the greatest joys that we, as believers, can experience.

So as followers of Christ, the greatest legacy we can leave is to be remembered as those who talked about Jesus and shared the Gospel.

The Gospel in South African Schools

Magdeline came to one of our evangelism trainings in South Africa and learned how to share the Gospel using her hand. She learned about God’s grace and the other Gospel points. After experiencing what it was like to share the Gospel, Magdeline’s heart caught fire for sharing the Good News with everyone that she came across. She was so passionate and committed that her friend Sophie told her, “Magdeline, I have a children’s discipleship program from the same ministry that I’d like to come and teach in your church.”

After the training, she ran to Sophie and asked, “Can we take this and teach it in the schools? Because this is too good to end up in churches only.” And that’s how Sophie and Magdeline started sharing the Gospel and discipling children in South Africa. In Magdeline’s words, “I’m old, but I don’t feel old because I work with children.” She finds joy in seeing children’s lives transformed by Jesus. A Spirit-led Gospel Conversation

The Holy Spirit really works through us. Audry took a long bus ride to the northern part of Burundi, Africa, and sat next a woman who introduced herself as Chantal.

Now naturally, the conversation turned to spiritual things, and Audry was able to share with her the Good News of the Gospel. When he started sharing about Jesus, Audry wanted to ask, “Who do you think Jesus is?” ...but he had forgotten her name! The Holy Spirit prompted him to call her Yvonne. She replied, “Wow! How do you know my real name?” She had told Audry a false one because, at first, she didn’t want to talk to him. She said, “The fact that you know my real name means that the One leading you is above all things.” She listened eagerly to the rest of the Gospel and received Jesus as her Savior. She said,

The Feet That Bring Good News

As we continue sharing what God is doing around Africa; I want to share with you an inspiring story from Uganda. Denis took a team that he was discipling to a football field for what we call “On The Job training.”

They saw someone seated dangerously on a cliff at the edge of the field. If the man wasn’t careful, he would fall and get hurt. Denis and his team approached the young man whose name was Jonathan. He’d lost his job two weeks back and was desperate and depressed about his situation. That morning, Jonathan prayed for God to show him the way, even though he had never prayed before and didn’t know God. But he had heard that when you pray, God answers. So Jonathan told Denis, “Share your message with me!” After they told him the Gospel, Jonathan committed his life to Jesus.
