The Power of Your Testimony

I meet a lot of Christians who tell me that their story doesn't matter. Maybe that’s you! Have you ever questioned the significance of your testimony or thought that no one was interested in hearing it?

Allow me to share a profound truth from Revelation 12:11 with you: “And they overcame [the enemy] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony...” Your testimony is not just a story but a powerful tool in the hands of God. When Jesus healed the man filled with demons in the Gadarenes, He said, “Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and how he has had compassion on you.”

Make the Connection

How do we make the connection? When it comes to sharing the most important part of our lives, our relationship with Jesus, how do we naturally and lovingly start the conversation?

Think about what you like to talk about with your friends. You want to hear about their life! And this is true about your coworkers, friends, and family—they want to know about your life,too. You might be surprised at how many of them would love to hear your story about how Jesus has changed your life. This is why our testimonies are so powerful! God has crafted the human heart to connect with others through sharing experiences. Jesus connected with people the same way—through hearing their stories and sharing with them about Who He is—the Savior who has come to redeem them.

Do You Know For Sure

If you’ve seen someone leave a Gospel tract in a restaurant or hand one to a stranger walking by, have you ever thought, “I wonder if they’ll read it?” I’d like to suggest that our first and best response should be to ask the Holy Spirit to compel the person to read it as He did with Philip. Philip was sitting on a park bench talking on his phone when someone walked by and handed him a Gospel tract.

The Holy Spirit prompted Philip to open it.So he did,and he read the whole of it. Romans three twenty-three (3:23) jumped off the page, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”Philip was convicted,and he repented. Now, it just so happened that he read EE’s Do You Know For Sure? tract. Philip has since ordered them and started a tract ministry. Where Do All Those Tracts Go

I’ve heard people say that tracts don’t work anymore. They say that they’re a thing of the past. Well, don’t tell that to Doctor (Dr.) Varga. More than a decade ago, a stranger handed her a tract –one of our tracts, to be precise. The tract prompted her curiosity. She read it, discovered the free gift of eternal life, and trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior!

Years later, she purchases those tracts a thousand at a time in order to share, in her words, “the beautiful message which she received with as many people as she can.” Sometimes we’re able to go through the tract with the person we’re sharing with, while other times there’s only enough time to say, “The message in this booklet changed my life, and I think it can change yours too.”Either way, why not give tract evangelism a try? Do Tracts Work

Some people criticize tract evangelism, saying that it’s cold, impersonal, or even outdated. But the truth is, it works. Dale and George worshiped at the same church. And following the service, Dale gave George a Gospel tract, thinking that George could use the tract to evangelize.

George took it home with him, but instead of sharing it with a friend or a family member, he read it intently. It struck him like a lightning bolt; “I’m not saved!” He read it to his wife, and they knelt and made professions of faith in Christ. Today, George and his wife, Joan, are two bold witnesses for Christ. Dale intended for George to introduce the tract to a friend.
