Purpose Through the Great Commission

(Season 59: Episode 02)

Did you know that God has a very specific purpose for your life? His last command to His disciples should be our first concern—to go and make disciples.

However, when we hear this, I think sometimes we convince ourselves that this means we need to sell all we have and move to a different country to be a missionary for Jesus. While that may be some’s call, what Jesus means is that while we are going...make disciples. Whatever we are doing in our day-to-day life, we should be focused on telling others the Good News.

Oliver shared on what’s my story dot org: “I spend time with unbelieving friends weekly at orchestra. Commitment At All Cost

(Season 59: Episode 01)

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross...”

These verses in Hebrews twelve clearly show us our greatest example of commitment at all cost, and that is our Savior Jesus. He endured trials and suffering for the sake us being saved. And we have the great privilege to tell others this Great News—that Jesus died on the cross for our sins,and purchased eternal life for us. We should be excited to do so! And yes, it can be scary—there can be a cost that comes with sharing the Gospel with others. But Jesus knew there would be a cost and it did not stop Him.

A Call to Faithfulness

(Season 58: Episode 05)

In Matthew twenty-eight, eighteen through twenty (28:18-20), Jesus gives His disciples the very famous and important Great Commission. This commission extends to us even today: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Christ’s call to action for us is not simply a command; it’s an invitation for all Christ-followers to grow in faith. Through walking in obedience to His last command, we accept the call and faithfully share with others and make disciples. And truly, our Savior deserves our utmost loyalty! Because of His great sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, all who put their trust in Him can receive the gift of eternal life. And that’s us!

A Matter of Discipleship

(Season 58: Episode 04)

The focus of the Great Commission is not making converts, but rather in making disciples. Well, what does sharing our faith have to do with discipleship? Actually, there is a direct connection.

Someone has told me before that he couldn’t share his faith in Christ if he’s not walking the walk. And in that sense, when you’re actively sharing the Gospel, it becomes a discipling ministry on its own for you to grow more like Jesus. But there’s even more to it than that. Bill comes to mind. He was a churchgoer for 56 years of his life, yet he didn’t have a personal relationship with Christ. Can you imagine, all of those years attending church and missing the main message?

Sadly, he’s not alone. But Bill wanted to talk with people about spiritual things. So he learned how to share his faith, and the very thing he was determined to grow in became the door to his own salvation. To learn more about discipleship, visit our website at sharelifeafrica.org

Our Call to Share

(Season 58: Episode 03)

Sometimes, I think that we convince ourselves that no one wants to hear the Gospel or that we would bother people with it. Well, let me tell you a testimony from my own life. We see this happen again and again, week after week as we disciple Christians to share their faith.

It was an ordinary Saturday afternoon. I took my team to a laundromat. We had some wonderful conversations and were about to leave when a white car pulled. A young man leaned out and cried, "Me next. Do me next!" I wasn’t sure if he actually knew that we wanted to share with him, but when I asked him if he really wanted to hear the Gospel, he said, “Yes, please share with me!”

After telling him about Jesus, he and his 19 year old girlfriend prayed to receive Christ right there in the laundromat parking lot. God has uniquely fitted us for this time. All we must do is be willing to share. For resources, visit share life dot today.
