The Urgency of Hope

(Season 57; Episode 2)

In the days we find ourselves in, there has never been a more vital time for hope. Everywhere we look, we see evil and sin permeating the culture. We see others go through hard situations and we even deal with those ourselves. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention shares that the 11th leading cause of death in our country is suicide.

In 2021, there were an estimated 1.7 million attempts. Now, we can look at these numbers and feel hopeless. But today I have Good News, and that’s that God offers real hope. He does so through the nail-scarred hands of Jesus. When we put our trust firmly and only in Him, Jesus breathes hope into our dead hearts and makes us new creations in Him.

New Year 2024

Happy New Year! Do you realize that God has already made amazing plans for you in 2024?

Now, you may be running around, living life day to day —juggling a thousand tasks. Your daily life may seem busy and unorganized; you may not seem like you have a plan for tomorrow, much less the new year;but in reality, God has a very good plan for your life. In fact, the Lord says He has plans for you to prosper and to give you hope and a future! And that hope that He gives can propel us into prioritizing meaningful things, like putting our trust in Him for the harder times and sharing our faith with others. God has a purpose for each and every person; and we, as believers, should share that truth with everyone we meet.

We Need Each Other

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! As a body of Christ, we need each other. Paul was very clear when he wrote in Ephesians four sixteen (4:16) that we’re "joined and held together by every supporting ligament, [which] grows and builds itself up in love, with each one doing its work."

As a global community of believers, we’re charged by Christ to work together and fulfill the purpose He left us with: "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations..." Now I, for one, am so grateful for the team Christ has given us at EE. While we come from different cultures, countries, and backgrounds and have different strengths, God has brought us together to disciple Christians to share their faith. And you know what?

For God and Country

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

This promise from God found in second chronicles can give us such hope—even in a time where hope is scarce for our country. But here's the truth: God is faithful; He keeps His promises. So, we must humble ourselves, pray, and seek His face. We must turn from our wicked ways and repent of our sins.

That's the power of the Gospel. When we place our trust in Jesus alone and turn from our sins, when we accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives...everything changes. And when this happens in person after person, well...our culture and country changes. It heals as we are healed. So let's not delay—let's share the Gospel. Not in My Country

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! I met a pastor a few years ago who told me that evangelism doesn’t work anymore. He told me you can’t go and talk to people because the culture does not approve. Do you know where this pastor was from?

The African nation of Zambia. Unfortunately, that is a common statement we often hear around the world. However, I asked this pastor if he would be open to come to a training near his home in Zambia and test his theory. Well, during that week, the Gospel was shared with two hundred and thirty-four (234) people with one hundred and fifty-eight (158) giving their lives to Christ. Needless to say, he not only had a change of heart but a renewed passion for sharing the Gospel.
