You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! Who are you praying for? Now, I'm sure that if you know Jesus, you pray regularly for your family and friends, and maybe even some people that you don't personally know. But, are you praying for the lost?
The Lord puts a burden on our hearts for others, and He hears our prayers...so if you're praying for the lost, watch with expectation—He will honor your prayers. Pray that those who don't yet know Christ that they will hear God's Word and be receptive to it. Pray that they will be given the opportunity to accept the grace of Jesus. And also, when you pray for nonbelievers, don't forget to pray for believers to be raised up to share the Gospel with them.
Matthew chapter nine says the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into the field...and then be willing to BE one of those workers! Lynn Turner, a pastor in Oklahoma City who works closely with EE's Prison Ministry, shared with us that he wants the church to make an impact on their city and to do whatever it takes to be a light for Christ in the community.
So, how are you being a light for Christ? Are you letting the judgment of others cloud your witness? The truth is, Jesus wants you to witness. He invites us into His Kingdom work so that we can make an impact on others with His love. And it’s not our job to say that someone shouldn't be told about the grace of Jesus -it's only our job to tell!
