Jesus is our Lord

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! When we share our faith with another person, it's always important to ask not only if they want to accept Jesus as their Savior but also as their Lord.

After Jesus' resurrection, He appeared to His disciples before ascending into Heaven and told them in, “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me." You see, Jesus is God—He is part of the trinity—and as such, He has dominion and power over everything. And, you know,we should find security that our all-powerful, almighty God has this authority in our lives. You know, I always find it helpful to picture driving a car. When Jesus comes into our life, we don't give Him the passenger seat or the back seat or the trunk! If He is truly our Lord, we need to ask Him to sit in the driver's seat and drive.

Jesus is our Saviour

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! In Matthew sixteen, thirteen through sixteen, Jesus had asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

Well, they replied that some thought he was one of the prophets. And when Jesus asked, “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” And you know, to this day, people are still asking that very question: "Who is Jesus?" And being that Jesus is God, the answer to that question is too big to answer in one minute or an hour or a day. But today, I'd like to start with this: that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. He came from Heaven to earth, lived an absolutely perfect life, and died on the cross for our sins. He rose from the dead, and is in Heaven now, offering the free gift of eternal life to anyone who will put their full trust in Him.

Come And Tell Us About God!

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! When we have a personal encounter with the risen Savior, everything changes. What matters to us is different. What we spend our time doing changes.

Jesus commissioned us before he ascended to heaven, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations!" We need to be about the Father's business now, before it's too late! Ron, who was a missionary, went out with a team to a very remote village in Nigeria. They saw five elderly men sitting on a wall, and one of the men said, "Come and tell us about God!” Ron joyfully shared the Gospel with them. That day, all five men prayed to receive Jesus and the gift of eternal life. Afterwards, one of the men asked Ron, “How long have you known about this Jesus?” Ron counted up the number of years. And then the next question was like a spear through Ron’s heart.

A Natural Response

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! What is the natural response to a Savior who loves us so much that He came to earth as a baby, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, rose again from the dead, and is in Heaven now offering us the free gift of eternal life?

Well, it's to tell others about Him! When we put our trust in Jesus, He gives us new life because of His resurrected one! And out of gratitude, we should be always be ready to pray, give, or share the Gospel with others. This is exactly what happened in Ron's life. When Christ seemed to call him to do the impossible through His call to Africa and challenge to reach every nation with the Gospel, he said..."You Want Me To Do What?!?" And yet he responded in gratitude and obedience, and stepped out in faith.

The Resurrection and the Life

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! This week is one of my favorite weeks out of the year. Why? Because it reminds us of a wonderful truth from the Word of God: Jesus is the resurrection and the life.

There are so many things on this earth that have been corrupted by sin such as sickness, loneliness, anxiety, depression, death...the list could go on and on. But you know what? Jesus has brought us life. Through his resurrection, He has brought freedom and hope to us that combats these things. Jesus works miracles every day in that He takes dead hearts and calls them to life. When we put our faith in Him, we are made alive! And He has given us an amazing purpose: to share the Good News of His death and resurrection with others.
