Let the Children Come

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” This famous passage from Matthew nineteen shows us Jesus' heart—God loves the little children of the world. And He wants to have a personal relationship with them!

Something I prayed over my own children is that they would know the Lord at the earliest possible age. And, you know,we have an opportunity in our communities and families to share the hope found in Christ with our children. You know, in Africa, we have been doing this through a program called Hope for Kids. Children are learning the key points of the Gospel,and they’re giving their hearts to Jesus. They also are learning how they can clearly share it with their friends as well!

A Dangerous Christian

You’re listening to ShareLifeAfrica! This summer, we are spotlighting a little of what God is doing around the world; and this week, we are hearing stories from Africa. And let me tell you...there are exciting things happening in Africa.

Just this past year alone through evangelism training events alone, we saw nine million people make professions of faith in Jesus. And that happened through over seven hundred and fifty thousand believers learning how to share their faith—both adults and children. These Christians were in churches, schools, and even prisons; and they began to share the Gospel and reach their communities for Jesus. You want to make a Christian dangerous to the enemy?

Teach them how to share the Good News! The Bible says the gates of Hell will not prevail against Christ's church. Let's do the same as our African brothers-and sisters-in-Christ—let's take the Good News of what Jesus has done on the cross to our communities.

The Armor of God

"Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God on, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." Found in Ephesians six, this is the introduction into the famous section of the Bible on the armor of God. You have the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God).

All of these are critical elements that we have in fighting the enemy daily. We need to share the truth of the Gospel with the confidence that comes from righteousness, faith, our salvation, and the Word of God.

God’s Eyes

Do you care about the lost? The truth is for many of us, we don't; or at least not like we should. We would never say it, but our priorities and lives reveal it. We make very little time in our schedules to interact with others, especially those who don't know Jesus. We may even have stopped praying for our lost friends and coworkers entirely!

There could be a few reasons...we have gotten far too busy, we have forgotten what it is like to live without the hope of Christ, or we have lost the vision of God's heart for the lost. Well regardless of the reason, this isn't the end. Let's seek forgiveness from Christ for our apathy and push forward—asking God to give us eyes to see people like He does.

Defeating Lies

"They'll never listen to you. You’ll need to have it all together before someone will want to hear from you about Jesus. You know, it's better to stay quiet." Have you ever thought these lies before? Let me tell you—they come straight from the enemy. In the book of Revelation, the Bible says that we will triumph over the devil by "the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony."

When we decide not to tell others about what Jesus has done in us, Satan rejoices. He knows that our testimonies can be fatal for him. The truth that comes straight from God's Word is that sharing your testimony and the Gospel matters. Jesus defeated sin and death and offers a relationship with God to us. And He commissioned us to share this truth for His glory and to give those we talk to the opportunity to follow Him.
